| 1819 | 276 Add An Event | After months of vicious fighting in southern Latin America, Andrew Jackson's Army of Sonora(as it has come to be called) is on the retreat after the battle of Guyamas in which 1,293 American(a tenth of his force) men were killed. Jackson orders a retreat when he hears rumors that Simon Bolivar is arriving with a force of at least 35,000 well armed men and the help of the rebels. In America, the slave revolt as finally reached Northern Viginia. Much destruction abounds as the revolting slaves have defeated the pickup militas that are sent to defeat them, and one sad note of this, the son of Light Horse Harry Lee, was killed by the advancing slaves. Robert E Lee and his mother and all the loyal slaves are killed. In the Senate, desperate Southern senators call on the government to get out of that "silly adventure we chose to take from Napoleon" and ask the North to send troops to help quell the revolts. The game, however, proves a laughingstock as an unprecedented 50 runs are scored by the two teams, made up largely of has beens and youngsters. The U.S. Navy quietly snuck up on the group at night and captured the rouge ships while the rebels were dividing up what appeared to be looted goods from merchant ships.
U.S. Marines capture the Argentinan port cities of Puerto Deseado, Viedima, and Mar del Plata. Expecting a defending army, the Argentinan people had casted out the Hispanic Army from their cities during the revolt. They greeted the U.S. Marines as liberators. Events are pretty similar up until they take over the plane. He leads the people in retaking the plane. The take over is quicker. He breaks several arms and legs, with one exception. The last highjacker stabs him in a nonvital area, his leg. He makes the highjacker eat the knife. The rest were taken alive. He informs the military he is in charge of the plane and needs to land. He has prisoners, ready for interrogation.
Two F16's escort him to the closest military base after an exchange of codes. CNN releases the footage of former air force Captain Riley draging two terrorist by their hair,down from the plane.Captian Riley is hailed as a national hero. After, he debriefs the military on the situation, he heads home to his fiance. CNN breaks his heritage after investigating him. Both the Presleys and Kennedys deny the link. Several men of middle eastern descent attempted to take control of the airplane, but were subdued by passengers. Two F-16's are scrambled, and lead the plane back to their base. Another United Airlines flight out of Rome makes an emergency landing in London when a passenger, also of middle eastern descent gets quite aggressive with a flight attendant before being restrained.

Confused the nation still carrys on with it itinerary on an otherwise beautiful day. 9:04 Simultaneously one plane hits the South Tower of the WTC and one plane hits the Capitol building. Stunned at the terror attacks the nation pauses and tunes to the President speaking at a school in Florida. 9:06 The President says that many good people were in the Capitol, including the Vice President, and that many other innocent children and citizens were and are being put through hell in the horrific fires in New York. | 2001 | 741 Add An Event | Terrorists, on the orders of Osama bin Laden manage to hijack three planes. One of the planes is crashed into the north tower of the World Trade Center. Another crashes just off shore in New York. The third plane is retaken by the passengers. One of the passengers is a pilot of small planes. In an amazing feet, the FAA is able to talk the pilot through an emergency landing in a Pennsylvania field.

| 2000 | 869 Add An Event | Federal troops learn that Nussle and Vilsak are attending a resistance meeting near Mount Vernon, Iowa. They conduct carpet bombing of the city and surrounding area. Over 22,000 people die in the bombing, and another 12,000 are wounded. Hospitals as far away as Dubuque and Davenport are filled to capacity with wounded. | 2001 | 972 Add An Event | Between 6:30 and 8:00 AM, nineteen men, all citizens of Middle Eastern nations, fifteen from Saudi Arabia, are arrested at Newark International Airport in New Jersey and Logan International Airport in Boston. They had been trying to smuggle weapons onto commercial airliners. President McCain is informed of this while reading to schoolchildren in Florida, and returns to the White House to look over the reports. At around 5:30 PM, a Port Authority Trans-Hudson (PATH) train derails at the terminal underneath the World Trade Center in New York. One passenger, who had a rough day at work, remarks, "Damn! Everything else has gone wrong today, now this! This is the worst day of my life! What else could go wrong?" He doesn't know what really could have gone wrong, because the nineteen arrestees aren't talking, aren't telling them what they meant to do on those planes, and McCain has decided that there's no reason to alarm the American people by telling them about the arrests. In typical Imus fashion, he not only misses the building, but is unaware that Stern is in Florida, trying to establish "pre-orientation week break" as an end-of-summer counterpoint to spring break for college students. Imus does, however, succeed in confusing pilots both at his takeoff in New York and at his landing in Washington, forcing the hijackers to scratch their plans to attack America. A check of passenger rosters for other flights that day showed that 3 planes took off with a total of 14 empty seats that had been paid for by men with middle eastern sounding names. | 2001 | 1092 Add An Event | While flying from New York to Los Angeles, a plane carrying Presidential speechwriter Monica Lewinsky is hijacked. She hears one of the Arabs denounce America and Israel, and say that the plane will be crashed into the U.S. Capitol Building. He turns his back, and she gets up and hits him over the head with her handbag, knocking him down. She takes his gun and kills him, and then points it at the others. "That'll teach you to mess with a Jewish girl from L.A.!" she yells. Other passengers get up and grab the guns of the other hijackers, who are taken into custody after an emergency landing at Dulles International Airport outside Washington. But upon leaving the plane, the passengers find out that Monica's heroism is by no means enough. Three other airliners have been hijacked. The World Trade Center in New York has been destroyed by planes being crashed into its Twin Towers, and the Pentagon has also been damaged by this method. Over 3,000 Americans are dead. After the funeral, the Senate urges Britannicus to re-marry in order to produce a new heir in order to avoid a succession crisis. The first attack of the day happens at the exact same time of 9/11. 2 planes collide with the newly - erected WTC but only 12 people die due to the new and improved- terrorist proof building structure.
Shortly afterwards, a plane tries to collide with the pentagon, but is shot down. As it hits the street below, 4 people die. simultaneously, 4 more planes are heading towards Manhattan, and one towards Brooklyn. One of the planes collides with the Chrysler building, another hits the New Yorker hotel, the third rams into the WTC again, trying to send it to the same fate as the first one. At this time, the plane that headed to Brooklyn, which contained some explosives, flew straingt into the Brooklyn Bridge. It was immediatley destroyed. The final, and biggest plane, dive-bombed into the bottom of the Empire State Building. Th explosion makes it teeter dangerously towards nearby apartment buildings. 2 more planes are heading towards San Fransisco. One attemtps to fly into the Golden Gate bridge, but misses, it plunges in the water and explodes. The other plane however has better luck. It slams into the main suspension wires and cripples the bridge. In Chicago, the Sears tower is hit in the same way as the Empire State building, and tumbles, crushing several businesses, and a hospital. An hour later, the Empire State building finally falls but due to more safety training, only 7 people die. Millions of dollars worth of homes and businesses are wiped out. The UK is the next target. Th first place to be hit is Scotland. Edinbouragh castle is dismantled. The next victim is Northern Ireland. Belfast's famous docklands are hit. The H&W cranes, which built the Titanic, fall into the depths of the North sea. Next to be hit is Big Ben. The famous clocktower falls into the Thames. It is now 2:00pm Buckingham palace is almost hit. but the plane is shot down. 3 people die when it crashes into Trafalgar square. New York is targeted once more. 4 more suspension bridges crumble, and Lady Liberty's face gets blown up as a small private plane hits it. Following Chiraq's resignation, the French public vote the right-wing UMP back into office, with Nikolas Sarkozy as President, on a strongly anti-US platform. Sarkozy objects to sanctions being placed on France because of the actions of a private French company (despite questions from the US as to how exactly this company was able to obtain nuclear materials without government support).
France vetoes every single UN resolution placed before the security council, effectively paralysing the United Nations, and vowes to continue doing so until sanctions are lifted. Franco-American relations sour to such a point that French shops are burnt in the US and two American tourists are beaten to death by a group of youths in France. Osama bin Laden has now become a martyr, Al Qaeda and associated groups exploit his image relentlessly. In memory of 9/11/2001, on Sep. 11th, 2006 in the Atlanta, Boston, Chicago, Dallas, Phoenix, LA and Denver airports Al Quaeda operatives with *very slightly* leaky briefcases arrived 12 to 14 hours early for their flights. Joining the crowds of people to check in, wander throughout the airports, get food and the like, their briefcases sifted out a very fine powder of anthrax and hemorrhagic smallpox bacteria. They spent particular attention on choke points such as outside doors to parking decks, food courts and shops, in-airport transportation systems like trains and shuttles, and areas around bathrooms and water fountains, and play areas for children when available.
An estimated 1.7 million people were exposed to the mix of anthrax and smallpox. Saddam referred to them as his 'One-Two' strike against the US. With hemorrhagic smallpox having a 90+% fatality rate, and inhalational anthrax having a 75% fatality rate there were few survivors, and subsequent smallpox transmission from person to person killed 30 million within six months in the United States.
However, in a bizzare twist of fate one of the Al Quaeda operatives paused for almost five minutes by a group of businessmen headed to Iraq to discuss cashing in oil vouchers that had been issued during the UN sanctions, infecting them with the mix. Thouroughly infected, they spread the spores throughout their travels, infecting hundreds. Passing through the Bagdad airport, they proceeded to spread the contagion to some members of Saddam's inner circle.

That tower burns for 16 minutes, until a massive gas explosion in the rubble of the North Tower rips though the smoking debris. The burning South Tower stays upright for a few seconds, then tips slowly toward the east. In film footage that would become famous, the South Tower, belching smoke, falls toward Wall Street. | 1945 | 3928 Add An Event | Dr. Jonas Salk continues his viral experiments on the patients at the concentration camp in Browntown, New Jersey. So many patients die in the experients, but one patient actually seems strengthened. His muscles are built up, and his reflexes improve, to the point where he tries to escape, but is then severely beaten by guards. Salk does not know the prisoner's name, only that he is kept in a certain cell in Block 5. Salk looks: The prisoner in Room A is dead, the prisoner in Room B is dying, the prisoner in Room C is dead, and so on... but the prisoner in Room K is actually getting stronger. Turns out that the man in Room K has an adrenal deficiency called Addison's disease. That night, Salk produces his weapon: One that acts on the adrenal glands, which, as it will turn out, not only kills the patient within days, but forces the production of enough adrenaline that he will be terrified as he dies. The question Salk asks is, "What are we going to do with the man in Room K?" The camp's commander, Colonel Robert Welch, says, "As soon as the weapon is perfected, we'll know we succeeded. There is no question of an attack now. "Boys and girls," he tells the kids, "I'm sorry, but I've got to go. I can't tell you why, but you'll find out soon enough." The kids are confused, but not alarmed. As Air Force One is taking off, Graham is briefed: Several terrorists were detained at Newark Airport in New Jersey and Dulles Airport in Virginia, planning to hijack planes. They did not say what the intended targets were. But since Logan Airport in Boston did not meet the same standards as the others, some terrorists got through there. Graham is warned that Air Force Once could be a target, and should be diverted away from Washington. "This plane is landing at Andrews," Graham says of the Maryland Air Force base near the capital. "The American people are not going to see their President running around the country like he's afraid!" By the time he lands, Graham is told that both WTC towers have collapsed. It is not yet known how many have died, but the total will later be determined to be 2,749. Graham goes on television that night, and says, "The people who ordered these attacks will be identified, found, and punished." | 2001 | 4225 Add An Event | A United Airlines Boeing 757 jetliner designated Flight 93, bound from Newark International Airport to Tokyo by way of San Francisco, is hijacked by several members of the terrorist group Al Qaeda and diverted toward Washington, D.C. Cell phone calls from the passengers to loved ones indicate that the terrorists plan to deliberately crash the plane into the White House or the Capitol. The plane never reaches Washington. Instead, it crashes in an empty field just outside the town of Shanksville, Pennsylvania, 150 miles northwest of the U.S. capital. Investigators will later determine that the passengers and crew of the doomed plane had attempted to seize control of it from the terrorists, and that their captors had crashed the plane in Pennsylvania to prevent that from occurring. The government will also learn, through interrogation of the Al Qaeda operatives arrested prior to the hijacking, that the seizure of Flight 93 was part of a much larger plan targeting not only the White House or Capitol but also the Pentagon and both towers of New York City’s World Trade Center. The other planned hijackings had been aborted when airport security was tightened in August; the decision to proceed with what became the Flight 93 hijacking had been made only at the last minute, when Qaeda operatives found a hole in Newark International’s newly tightened security screening. President Gore, who had been visiting a school in Florida when news of the terrorist takeover and crash of Flight 93 reached him, cuts short his trip and returns immediately to Washington. FAA and FBI investigators are immediately dispatched to the crash site. Based on reports of what passengers had said via cell phone about the terrorists’ objective, the Secret Service details of both the President and the Vice-President are placed on heightened alert, as part of a general security alert in Washington. Suggestions that the nation’s two top elected officials go into hiding for their protection are, however, rejected. “I cannot lead this nation from some fortress hidden in some undisclosed location,” explains the President. “That’s not how we do things in America. And if the day comes when that’s how we have to do things, this country won’t be America anymore.” In New York, Mayor Rudolph Giuliani is not yet aware that his city was being targeted by the same people who brought down Flight 93. However, business operations in the World Trade Center and throughout the five boroughs slow down as distracted workers listen for fresh news of the tragedy.
