Add An Event		After a long controversy over the issue, Canadian Prime Minister Diefenbaker chooses to allow work on the Avro Arrow aircraft to continue. However, he creates the 'Aeronautical Research Centre of Canada' (the ARCC) to supervise and control the development of the Avro Arrow and future aircraft for the use of the Canadian military.
The ARCC has a large complex constructed several miles outside of Calgary. The facility includes several laboratories, an aircraft hangar, runways and even a garrison of 200 Canadian soldiers. Working in the ARCC are some 300 scientists, most of whom were involved in the earlier development of the Avro Arrow.

Add An Event		At the Battle of Yarmuk,the “Romans” managed to inflict a crushing defeat on the Arabs. During the course of the battle after the Arabs had bribed 12,000 Monophysite Arab Christians to go over to their side, General Baanes, in a fit of extreme desperation,picked a thousand of his best troops and charged the Arab left flank, which was particularly thin His charge managed to break through and the “Romans” proceeded to fall upon and completely destroy the Arab camp. Upon seeing their wives and children being massacred by the “Romans” the Arabs fell first into a disorder and then into a rout as the newly emboldened “Romans” charged. The result:the entire Arab force, 12,000 defectors and all, brutally killed in less than half an hour. Arab power has fallen to nothing in a single day. Upon hearing of the crushing defeat, Caliph Umar dropped dead on the spot after suffering a heart attack.

Add An Event		(Note:This is a divergence for Timeline 847.) Soviet and Japanese negotiators agree on joint non-agression pact, leaving Japan with a free hand in China and Mongolia in exchange for their recognition of Soviet territorial rights in Siberia and the Far Eastern Provinces.
Also agreed was the provision that neither party would aid or support other powers' war making on the other. This to assure Stalin that the Japanese would not aid the Germans, nor Stalin providing assistance to the Americans or British against Japan's warmaking aims.

Add An Event		Although tempted to retun to Capri, Tiberius decides that it would be a better idea to remain in Rome and insure that the Julian Dynasty survives him just as Augustus had planned. He knows fully well that Caligula Caesar, the youngest son of Germanicus, is unfit to rule Rome, and thus sends him to Capri to live a decadent lifestyle and keep him out of Rome. Nero Caesar and Drusus Caesar, Caligula's two older brothers, are far better suited for succession. Thus, Tiberius begins to further promote their political careers in order to see which one is better suited for succession.

Iraq owes billions of dollars to countries that supported her during the war, including Kuwait - which whom they owed neraly $14 billion dollars. Iraq hopes to repay its debts by raising the price of oil through OPEC oil production cuts, but instead, Kuwait increases their production, lowering prices, in an attempt to leverage a better resolution of their border dispute.

In his historic state of the union speech Patton claims. "The US will not be left behind, but will be at the forefront of industry, science, education and military might" Patton announces the reformation of the 1st US armoured Divsion, 101st Airborne division and the creation of Eisenhower Ranger division. The plans for the creation of five new nuclear aircraft carriers, the develpoment of 30 new nuclear attack submarines, 25 cruisers, 50 destroyers and over 70 troop transports, tankers and non combat vessels. The US airforce announces the creation of 4 new airbases in Australia, India, England and Italy along the additional purchase of 1000 single seat short range fighter interceptors (F101G). US administration also announces a free trade agreement with New Zealand, Fiji, Australia and Japan. The scientific development of Kevlar and photonic plasma rays is regarded in a major US breakthrough.

Lincoln orders all Union forces out of the CSA and calls for an attack to liberate the occupied Northern states. Generals Sherman and Buell are put in charge of the Army of Michigan and the Army of New England.

Millions more will die in the weeks ahead from disease, famine, suicide, and radiation poisoning, particularly in Europe, where both NATO and the Warsaw Pact made alarmingly frequent use of tactical nuclear warheads.

Add An Event		The USNC Enterprise intercepts radio signals coming from the general vicinity of Alpha Centauri. Scientists aboard the Enterprise are able to decipher a small part of the message, and eventually translate part of the message, which gives the value of pi. The Enterprise transmits the message, along with their findings, back to Earth. The transmition time should take about a year.

The Spanish raise an Italian army that tries to break the Ottoman lines and break Wien's siege. However there is no news of the fifteen Tercios raised in Spain, Portugal and North Africa nor of the 5000 Irish volunteers that landed in Cádiz.

Add An Event		The Great European War officially ends with the Treaty of Geneva, this time the victors learned their lesson, instead of pointing a gun to the head of the losers diplomat and forcing him to sign a piece of paper they negotiated. Germany lost all the land that they took from Poland, and the little state of East Prussia, resulting in a Poland about half as big as the prewar one, but with a larger coastline. The Nation of France completely won the former demilitarized zone and the area that was the French Occupation Zone after the victory in our time line. And, finally, the nation of Czechoslovakia was restored to its original boarders. The economic effects were about the same as the effects in the OTL, and Hitler remained in power, although a few additions to the German constitution assured that there would freedom of religion and at least be some form of semi-democratic government. As for the military, they were allowed to have a regular military, tanks, planes, and other weapons of war, but the size limits were reasonable. By doing this, the people of Europe hoped that this time, they would really have a chance at a lasting peace, instead of a 20-year cease-fire.
Note: in this timeline the extermination of the Jews was nowhere near as extensive as it was in our timeline. The infamous Ghettos in Poland never had time to be created and the total amount of Jews killed was “only” around 50,000, compared to approx. 6,000,000 Jews in the OTL. Because of this, there were no Nuremberg Trials, or executions of SS officers and the like. Hitler basically had to reintegrate the Jews of Germany back into society and all forms of religious persecution and/or segregation were outlawed by new amendments to the German Constitution.

The formal admission of the new states after the Constitution had been restored (as opposed to during the provisional period) had been effective after the ratification of the 30th Amendment, making it a valid modification of the Constitution. The new states did not count after restoration unless they were officially readmitted by Congress.

Add An Event		The division of earth summit is held in the worlds art centre of Linz. Britain is not allowed to keep its orginal empire and gives India to the Portugese and takes Northern America and Alaska. Mosely loses most of the British colonies especially in Africa but does not complain. Spain is given the entire continent of Africa. Japan is given China, most of the far east, Eastern USSR and the East Indies. Germany is entitled France, Scandinavia, Belgium, Holland, Poland, Western Russia and Switzerland.
Italy takes the entire Slavic region and east Mediterrian as well as Turkey. The Pportugese colonise the middle east and is returned Corsica as a gesture of good will by Hitler. Brazil is given the Southern U.S. and then sets about conqueroring the rest of South America taking the British owned Jamaica. Huge amounts of USSR deemed worthless remain unclaimed and become a poltical no man's land.
Deep distrust develops as PAF disbands and the countries concentrate their efforts on keeping and assimilating their new teritories.
A cold war develops over the 1950's as the Empire of Britain discovers the uses of nuclear materials as does Imperial Japan and The United Republic of America.

Add An Event		Edward II remains indecisive, divided between giving Scotland its freedom or losing his father and continuing the fight. But most members of the royal family do not realize that Wallace will kill the King either way.
As the English armies begin to grow idle, Wallace calls for a great alliance of the Scottish clans. He asks for 100,000 men from ages 16-65 who are able to fight. Wallace plans to lead the army into England, his second attempt, and cause as much havoc as possible.
Despite support from most of the clansmen, Wallace does not have the trust of the nobles, who fled the field at Falkirk. Wallace does not want to risk losing his title as Protector by punishing them, so he tries to appease them instead.
But supporters of the Balliol clan refuse to aid the Bruces, and likewise for the Bruces. Support for Wallace from these clans becomes even more strained as Wallace keeps Edward I as his personal prisoner.

Would Surnow and Cochran be able to tell their story in 12 episodes? The writers agree that they could. They leave to begin work on the pilot script for “12 Hours”.

Add An Event		The Byzantine Empire offers to buy out the British interest in Palestine for $50 million, and London seriously considers the offer before rejecting it. Germany releases an Air Carrier of its own called the Uber-Zep and begins sinking Allied convoys en masse. This "second bismarck" prompts Churchill to call in every possible Byzantine ship to take out this "Super-Zep". After a chase running from near the Azores to the Panama Canal, the fleet of seven Air Carriers destroys the "floating fortress" just north of Cartagena, Colombia. Only 39 of the 300 Germans are eventually found alive, later it will be learned that about twice that number also survived but deserted after crossing into Venezuela where many Germans had fled the Nazis. Byzantine authorities begin looking for a facility large enough for producing these "Uber-Zeps". They also begin moving some of their newer "Hoplite-A" missiles to SE England to hit continental Europe. Their hardened facility just outside of Dover also includes a small factory for making the missiles onsite, though the place won't be operation for another six months. Athens is liberated to the cheers of its residents and a grand push begins to liberate Thessalonki, Sofia, and Varna. Belgrade and Bucharest are considered the ultimate objectives in this phase of operations, but with the Nazi slaughter of the entire Bulgarian royal family in that country for "threatening the internal security of the Reich". Meanwhile, the Italian campaign remains stable, though the inauguration of Kesselring as commanding officer offsets the addition of green American troops.

Pat Buchanan, the Reagan Administration speechwriter turned journalist turned Primary opponent for duPont, says, "There is a religious war going on in this country." He rips into Governor Dianne Feinstein for her liberal, anti-gun, pro-gay, pro-education moves as Mayor of San Francisco and Governor of California; clobbers Senator Al Gore for his obsessions with the environment, telecommunications and computers; and closes by saying, "We will take back our culture, and take back our country!" Another former Presidential candidate, Rev. Pat Robertson, gives a speech blaming "secular humanists" for all the problems in the country. How they can be responsible for the nation's economic distress and the never-ending "war on terror" is a mystery to most TV viewers. Senator Dan Quayle of Indiana, seen by many as a future Presidential candidate, attacks popular culture as well, including TV shows like "Murphy Brown," "The Simpsons" and "Married... with Children," making himself sound ridiculous even to some people who don't like those shows. Other officials, from Senators to Governors to Cabinet officials, hammer the Democrats for the favoritism they seem to show to gays, immigrants, non-white people and people who don't display their religious faith in public. In a letter published in the liberal magazine The Nation, Michael Pacholek, a young staffer with the Feinstein campaign, calls it "Nuremberg in the Astrodome."
